Athleisure Looks to Love

Let’s be honest – most of the time when I’m done working out at the gym, the only place I’m going is straight home to jump in the shower. But on days where I “glisten” more than sweat – a yoga or pilates class, strength-training, or walking on the trails at a nearby park, I like to take advantage of the fact that I’m already out of the house and tackle a few errands before heading back home. If I know I’m going to be out and about, I push the ratty work-out wear aside and dig through my drawer for the cute stuff in an attempt to look a bit more pulled together and embrace the athleisure trend. Here’s one of my favorite looks that’s currently been on repeat around here:

Athleisure Looks to Love

I recently wore it on a morning hike, followed by a trip to the store to run one of my favorite kinds of errands:

In the spirit of being real, I have to admit that it doesn’t take a scheduled workout for me to decide to pull out the athleisure clothes. I’m also all about the look for rainy days at home, going to the kids’ sporting events, or a casual lunch out with a friend. Since I love to be comfy, here are some other cute options I’ve had my eye on:

I live in this look at lot since retirement. It is very comfortable and you can look cute but not too “dressed”. My biggest problem is finding joggers or leggings that sit high enough on the waist. On me, the below the waist is very uncomfortable. Because they obviously have a tighter fit, they can create a muffin top and I really don’t like the feel, or the look. Any suggestions on a particular brand or store where I can find higher waists?

Thank you for your link to the TSA “quart size” bag. I have gone through a few that just haven’t held up. This one seems much sturdier.

Yes, being comfy and cute at the same time is the best! The Zella High Waist leggings (https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=529664773&pid=uid1009-37933503-56) are great, and so are the GapFit High-rises ones (https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=630519620&pid=uid1009-37933503-56). Lots of cute colors to pick from, too! Glad the TSA bag recommendation was helpful – it’ll be perfect for all of your upcoming adventures!

[…] I found this cute work-out top at Target a few weeks ago, and it fits perfectly into the athleisure look that I’ve been embracing for casual days around the house or running errands (side note: it looks like it’s only available in white now, but I found more great color options here in a similar style).
