Five Easy Ways to Wear Florals
I love going into the stores right now and seeing all of the bright floral prints everywhere. So colorful! So fun! So spring-like! Don’t they just make you happy? When it comes to actually wearing floral prints, though, that’s where I run into problems. I’ve tried on countless dresses and tops with bold floral patterns that look great on the hanger, but not so great on me. Never one to give up easily, I have persisted in my search for florals that work and found a few easy ways for all of us to incorporate the trend into our spring wardrobes.
One: Flowy Sleeveless Blouse
I like this blouse because the print is just enough to brighten up a look, but doesn’t overwhelm the outfit. I kept it casual and paired it with skinny jeans and wedges, but it would work equally well with dress pants and a cardigan over it for a dressier feel.
Two: Pink Flower Print Purse
I love this purse because it takes a relatively simple outfit of capri pants and a top, and adds that little extra something to make everything look just a bit more pulled-together. Plus, it’s roomy enough to hold all of my gear, but not as big as the tote that I usually carry.
Three: Subtle Floral Scarf
Jeans and tees are one of my go-to combinations for warm weather days, and adding a floral scarf is a simple and quick way to elevate the look without a lot of fuss. Check out my Comfy Meets Cute series for more ways to use accessories to easily upgrade an outfit!
Four: Flower Print Canvas Sneakers
The key to making a floral shoe like this work is to keep the rest of your outfit fairly simple and wear colors that compliment the pattern. A basic cream top, camo green skinny jeans, and a tassel necklace work perfectly to keep the focus on the cute shoes. Add a stylish gray crossbody bag and you’re good to go.
Five: Navy Blue Floral Clutch
Coral and navy blue are a winning color combination in my book, so naturally I love how the floral clutch looks paired with the sweater. Throw on white skinny jeans and gladiator sandals, and the whole outfit screams spring without looking like you tried too hard.
