Color Collection: Spring Green
St. Patrick’s Day and the official arrival of Spring are both just around the corner, making it the perfect time to focus on all things green for this month’s color collection! Here are some favorites that I’ve had my eye on lately:
I love this tee for St. Patrick’s Day! No matter whether or not we have big plans, I always, always, always make it a point to wear green for St. Patrick’s Day. Kind of a funny story – my brother was born on March 16 when I was five years old, and in all of the confusion of my parents trying to get me to my friend’s house to spend the night before they went to the hospital, nothing green ended up in my suitcase for me to wear to school the next day for St. Patrick’s Day. My friend kindly offered me a pair of her green knee socks when we were getting dressed in the morning to keep my tears at bay, but I still remember looking around with envy at all of the other kids in their green corduroys and velour shirts (hey, it was the 70’s). The upside of this fashion tragedy is that ever since that day, I’ve always been prepared with something green far in advance of March 17…and I did get a pretty cool brother out of it, so there’s that.
No childhood stories to share here, but I can tell you that I’m a big fan of using glass water bottles when I go to the gym. The water somehow just tastes cleaner than it does in plastic, and I love the green silicone cover on this one. Not only is it bright and cheerful, but it makes the bottle easier to grip and help protects it in case of drops (yes, I can be kind of clumsy sometimes).
I love everything about this dress – it’s effortless without being too boxy or shapeless, and the keyhole cut-out on the front provides just enough interest so that you don’t need to add a necklace. Accessorize with a pair of statement earrings and a cute clutch and you’re good to go.
I see Converse Shorelines everywhere these days in the classic white version, but this adorable mint green pair would add the perfect pop of color to any basic jeans and tee outfit.
I drink a lot of green tea for all of the health benefits from its antioxidants (a steaming hot mug of it in the winter months & an icy cold frappuccino version in the summer), and now more and more beauty products are using green tea extract to take advantage of the wonderful anti-aging and rejuvenating effects on the skin. This one is definitely worth a try.
My faux succulents made an appearance here a few weeks ago, but I thought I’d give them another shout-out because my little collection still makes me smile. If you need to add some green into a space that doesn’t get a lot of light, these plants won’t disappoint. And the best part is that no watering is required, but they actually look real.
Florals are huge right now, and this pretty patterned blouse is a great way to add a touch of the trend to your wardrobe. It would look great under a blazer or cardigan for chilly spring mornings, and then worn on its own in the afternoon as the temperature heats up.
When I think of the perfect shade of green, the exact color of this purse is what comes to mind. They call this little beauty the Edit Bag because it’s just the right size to hold the essentials – think phone, wallet, keys, and lipgloss.
When I’m in the mood for adding a little shimmer to my otherwise neutral eye make-up, this Pacific Coast shade by Clinique does the trick. Since I’m not trying to rock an 80’s vibe, just a small swipe along the outside corner of the upper lash line is all it takes to get the effect I’m going for.
Have you tried anything from the Yes to Cucumbers line? They make the best products for an at-home spa night, and these new paper masks are great for hydrating even sensitive skin.
