Color Collection: Pretty in Pink
With Valentine’s Day less than a week away, this month’s Color Collection is focused on all things pink. A few of these items I already own; the rest I’ve been obsessing over online and in stores and may be adding to my shopping cart very soon.
Tassels are everywhere I look these days, and I just can’t seem to get enough of this cute accessory. Even though I already own at least five different tassel necklaces, this pink ombre one keeps calling my name. I may have a problem.
I love that White House Black Market took the traditional tough-looking moto jacket and softened it up a bit by offering a pink version. I still don’t know if I’m quite edgy enough to pull this look off, but I’m willing to give it a try.
I’ve tried these satin rose sunglasses on a few times at the store, and I think next time I venture out they are coming home with me.
Four: Front-Tie Tee
The tie detail on the front hem of this shirt is what caught my attention – such a cute way to elevate the look of a basic tee into something a bit more pulled together. And having the tie there completely answers the age-old “to tuck or not to tuck” question.
I’ve owned this Clinique lip balm in the Woppin Watermelon shade for a couple of years now, and it’s still a favorite. It was given a Best of Beauty Award by Allure in 2016 – it really does deliver on its promise to add color, shine and moisture to your lips.
Six: Love Throw Pillow
Every time I go to Target lately, I walk by this pillow and put it in my cart. Then I take it out again, because I really don’t have a place for it. But if you have a spot where you know it would look great, you need to buy it.
Seven: Pink Ombre Oblong Scarf
This pink ombre scarf would be great added to a jeans and t-shirt outfit to take it up a notch, or layered over a sweater or dress on Valentine’s Day as the perfect festive touch.
Eight: Heart-Shaped Ceramic Dish
This little dish is just the right size to sit on the vanity and corral a few of your favorite rings and earrings. I may be getting my daughter this for Valentine’s Day. But don’t tell her.
Nine: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel
My mom first introduced me to this amazing gel nail polish when she was in town for a visit, and anyone who knows me well has already heard me sing the praises of it. No UV light is required – just a quick coat or two of a Miracle Gel color (I like Pink Cadillaquer – a pretty bubblegum pink shade), followed by a light coat of their Miracle Gel Top Coat. It dries really fast – like you could go fold laundry and it’d be okay fast.
Ten: Mac Lustre Lipstick
This is basically the only lipstick I ever wear – I have a shade called “Syrup” and it seems to be one of those colors that looks good on almost everybody. It’s just the right shade to add a bit of color to your face, but without looking like you tried too hard. My husband and I went as JFK and Marilyn Monroe for Halloween, and let me tell you, having those red lips all night was high maintenance. Mac’s Syrup shade is the no-fuss opposite to that.
Eleven: Nike Orive Athletic Shoes
Even though the dressy shoes in my closet are quickly being outnumbered by my collection of athletic shoes, I don’t think I can resist these. They’d be great at the gym (if I’m going to be sweating around strangers, I at least want to look cute doing it) or worn with a casual outfit for a cute splash of color.
What have you had your eye on lately? Comment below and let me know! (Can you believe it’s almost Valentine’s Day? Weren’t we just sipping our Pumpkin Spiced Lattes?)
